I finally figured out how to post my creative expression :-).
My creative expression is a PowerPoint presentation about the Communities of Practice, Connectivism, and Professional Learning Networks. I began my presentation with the theory of connectivism because I feel like that's the basis of the other two aspects of our research this week. Connectivism is a theory, disputed as an actual learning theory but is more of a practice of teaching, that says that we are constantly learning, within a network of people, based on the rapidly changing world of technology and its role in education. As educators, we should be constantly changing our teaching based on the information we are gleaning from, and contributing to, our Professional Learning Network (PLN).
The knowledge that we gain from and contribute to our PLN, is what we are going to share with our Community of Practice(CoP) to make our common goal better than what it might have been, without our PLN. Our CoP is a group of people that we have common interests with, whether a hobby or a professional pursuit, meet with regularly, and want to make our common pursuit better.
