As I went to work on my curation of implemented social networking projects, I had a hard time finding more than just resources guiding where to find options. There were plenty of 'how-to' resources as well, but alas, that wasn't our assignment.
My teaching situation is unique as I teach online in the middle-school end of a high school program. Though my students work online in a specific LMS, I have the ability to add to the provided curriculum. I looked for projects on the higher end of the K-12 spectrum, but found that if I looked from the K-8 end of the spectrum, I was able to find some implemented projects that could be applied to the students I will be teaching this school year. Now I have to figure out how to implement them with the assigned curriculum where students are not required to attend synchronous classes, it will be interesting to see how I can implement the resources I have found.
Twitter chats and hashtags will probably be the easiest to start with since hashtags can be found asynchronously and on a myriad of subjects.
My curation project can be found here.
